Nicola says...
Clinical Pilates is a modification of traditional Pilates, continually developed by physiotherapists, movement specialists and biomechanics experts with up to date research for people experiencing pain, health issues, movement dysfunction or rehabilitation from injury or surgery which is not catered for in more traditional forms of Pilates or fitness Pilates. Many exercises are adapted for each individual person to enable correct function and control.
This is a Level 2 class where isolated and compound (more than one muscle or group of muscles) exercises are performed for longer periods than other clinical classes in order to improve endurance and function and will include a higher percentage of mobility and flexibility exercises than higher level classes. I'll give my clinical expertise and education to feel and understand the strengths and weaknesses in the body and how this could be contributing to pain and dysfunction. These classes will re-iterate the basics of breathing, core control and positioning in each class and will allow the time to feel the exercises correctly.

Suitable for those with mobility issues, joint restriction and muscle stiffness, and are slightly fearful of movement and exercise.

Not suitable for the total beginner or people with acute pain.

Suitable for those with mild to moderate chronic pain and the older client.
